Program Descriptions

Recreational Boys and Girls Classes:

Mom Pop and Tot
This program is designed for children between the ages 2 and 4 yrs old. This is a beginner gymnastic class with emphasis placed on building strength, coordination and self-confidence by using modified gymnastics apparatus designed for the preschooler. Each class will run 45 minutes and will be held once a week.

Recreational Gymnastics (Green Classes)
This class is for children with minimal gymnastics backgrounds. This is a progressive program which follows the National USA Gymnastics Levels 1-2 skills. Class length is 60 minutes and frequency vary depending upon level and skill ability.

Intermediate Program (Yellow Classes)
Intermediate classes are offered by invitation only. They are 90 minute classes and teach the skills necessary to begin competitive gymnastics. Strength, flexibility and disciplined workout habits become more important in this program. If your child is not ready for a 90-minute workout, we suggest two 60-minute classes per week. This program is developed for gymnasts that have moved up from recreational classes and but not quite ready for the competitive levels. Gymnasts will practice twice a week and each class will last 1.5 hours.

Developmental Pre-Team Program (Blue Classes)
This program is developed for gymnasts that have completed levels 1-3. Gymnasts will practice twice a week and each class lasting 2 hr. This program is really designed for those that want to continue on to our competitive program

Boys Gymnastics Classes
Our Boys program caters to a wide range of ages as well as skill levels. All our classes follow the Basic Skills Achievement Program (BSAP) for beginning mens gymnastics as set by USA Gymnastics(tm).

Gymnastics Classes For Middle and High School Levels

Middle and High school season is approaching very quickly. Come to get back in shape and continue to work on skills that you have mastered and learn new skills for the next competitive season! Green Mountain Gymnastics is offering classes to all Middle and High School girls.

Tumbling (Ages 8 and above)

This class is designed for those kids wishing to merely “tumble” and not do all four USA gymnastics events. These classes focus on basic and intermediate tumbling, from cartwheels and roundoffs to back handsprings and tucks. Learning skills on our Tumble Trak and flipping into our foam pit, makes learning new skills fun and safe. These classes are ideal for the aspiring Cheerleaders, boarders or freestyle skiers.

Competitive Team

Levels 4-10 will practice 2/5 days a week with classes lasting 3 hours. Students who radiate a passion for the sport of gymnastics and are able to meet the required time commitment are invited to our Junior Olympic programs. As part of a team, these young athletes learn and ultimately perform the national guidelines for gymnastics skills and routines. Their interest in the sport along with the camaraderie they share are the ingredients for success, in and out of the competition arena.

Level 4 – is the beginning level for the competitive gymnast. This level is for the gymnast who has just entered the team or who needs to develop basic skills. This group trains 6 hours per week

Level 5/6 – is the next levels of competition in USAG. At these levels the gymnast continues to develop basic skills at a higher level. These groups train 9 hours per week.

Level 7 – is an optional compulsory level. Although the gymnasts in this level do optional routines, the skills, which they need to perform, are dictated by USAG. This group trains about 12 hours per week.

Level 8 – is the first optional level in USAG’s Junior Olympic Program. These gymnasts compete basic optional skills while training more advanced on a daily basis. The level 8 competition season culminates in the Level 8 Regional Championships which includes gymnasts from all of New England and New York. These gymnasts train 12 hours per week.

Level 9 – is the next step in optional competition. These gymnasts compete intermediate optional skills and train the more difficult skills needed to compete at the next level. Level 9 competition reaches to Regional Championships and then to Eastern National Championships which includes all states east of the Mississippi River. These gymnasts train 12 hours per week.

Level 10 – is the last level before Elite. These gymnasts compete advanced optional skills while training to compete the most difficult routines. Level 10 competitions go from Regional Championships to Junior Olympic National Championships which include gymnasts from all 50 states.
